- Introduction of the Civil Society for Empowerment for Accountable Education Project with the Local Government representatives especially the Educational representative
- Understanding the needs and initiatives of Local Government
- Recommendation of CSOs from the LGU
Purpose: To introduce the project to the local government unit and seek their recommendations on CSO activities within their Municipality.
Key Points Discussed:
Mohan, Aakanshya, and Bindeshwor explained the CSE project to the Rural Municipality. It was emphasized that this project will not involve direct implementing activities at the school level but will focus on strengthening policy and data-based advocacy in collaboration with the local government.
- Prahlad sir shared that student teacher ratio is a serious problem where there is only one teacher in the entire Secondary and Primary schools. There are less infrastructures as well.
- The process of teacher appointment is very tight in the Sub-metropolitan. Therefore, not many people are willing to go through the process to become a teacher.
- There are 71 community schools and 50 private primary and secondary schools.
- Ward 26, 20 or 10 could be potential wards for the implementation of the CSE project as suggested by Nathu sir.
